Matrix term courses run over 9 weeks and are designed to build your skills and confidence progressively. Each subject follows a structured weekly format to help students stay on track and achieve their learning goals.

Course Format

  • Duration: 9 weekly lessons

  • Lesson length: 1.5 hours (Years 3–11) or 3 hours (Year 11 Maths & all Year 12 subjects)

  • Class size: Maximum of 15 students

  • Resources: Students receive a Theory Book (used in class) and a Work Book (completed as homework). English students only receive a Theory Book as all Homework is submitted digitally.

Weekly Lesson Structure

Lessons 1–8

  • Theory Lessons: Teachers guide students through the Theory Book, introducing new concepts and techniques.

  • Quizzes (Maths & Science): From Lesson 2 onwards, students complete short quizzes at the start of each class to review the previous week's content.

  • Homework review: Teachers may go over selected homework questions to clarify any misunderstandings.

  • English activities: English students engage in reading and writing tasks during class.

Lesson 9

  • Final assessment: All students sit a topic test or final assessment to evaluate their understanding of the term's content.

Homework Expectations

  • Maths & Science: Complete weekly homework in the Work Book and bring it to class for marking.

  • English: Submit weekly homework via the Matrix Learning Management System (LMS).
