What happens if my class is cancelled?
In the rare event that a teacher is unable to attend and a substitute is unavailable, we may need to cancel the class. Affected students and parents will receive an SMS notification. The class will resume the following week and conclude a week later than initially scheduled, finishing in Week 10
I’m running late. What should I do?
Please call the Matrix Service Team at 1300 008 008 as soon as possible so they can inform your teacher. You can also chat to us here. We recommend prompt communication, as our duty of care includes contacting absent students during roll call, which may involve reaching out to your parents.
I can’t attend my class. What should I do?
If you are going to miss a lesson, your parent can notify Matrix is via the Matrix Portal using the “Log Absence” button. They can also email [email protected] or chat with us online to inform us. Once notified, we will record your absence and inform your teacher.
All students receive video lessons after class, accessible until the end of the academic year. These videos are an excellent resource to catch up on missed content. Additionally, students can book workshops to address any questions about the course material.
How do I re-enrol for the next term
Enrolments at Matrix are automatically secured from one term to another within the academic year, ensuring you retain your spot in the course. If you are changing your grade at Matrix, we will contact you to advise of any timetable changes.
Can I enrol in a Matrix course above my current school year?
Matrix classes are designed to align with your current school year to ensure comprehensive understanding. Skipping grades is generally not permitted, as it may lead to learning gaps, especially in advanced concepts in Years 11 and 12. However, if you are studying at a higher level at school, our Maths academic team can assess acceleration requests to determine the most suitable Matrix course level for you.
What if I can't make my topic test?
If you are unable to attend your scheduled topic test, please inform us in advance. You can complete the topic test online via the LMS.
Maths and Science: Topic tests can be accessed on LMS, with worked solutions available after Sunday of Week 10 each term.
English: Topic tests must be submitted on LMS before Sunday of Week 10 to receive teacher feedback. Submissions after this date can still be attempted but will not be marked, as the term has concluded.
